Master plumber since 2/10/2001, master pipefitter since 2/26/2009, self employed since 2005. Prior to being self employed Mark was in the RI Local 51 plumber and pipefitter union. As a self employed plumber/pipefitter and union worker, I performed the following duties in both service, remodeling and new construction projects: ” boiler, hot-water heating and steam fitting contractor installs, services and repairs power boiler installations, hot-water heating systems and steam fitting, including fire-tube and water-tube steel power boilers and hot-water heating low pressure boilers, steam fitting and piping, fittings, valves, gauges, pumps, radiators, convectors, fuel oil tanks, fuel oil lines, chimneys, flues, heat insulation and all other equipment, including solar heating equipment, associated with these systems.
A plumbing contractor provides a means for a supply of safe water, ample in volume and of suitable temperature for the purpose intended and the proper disposal of fluid waste from the premises in all structures and fixed works. This classification includes but is not limited to:
(a) Complete removal of waste from the premises or the construction and connection of on-site waste disposal systems;
(b) Piping, storage tanks and venting for a safe and adequate supply of gases and liquids for any purpose, including vacuum, compressed air and gases for medical, dental, commercial and industrial uses;
(c) All gas appliances, flues and gas connections for all systems including suspended space heating units. This does not include forced warm air units;
(d) Water and gas piping from the property owner's side of the utility meter to the structure or fixed works;
(e) Installation of any type of equipment to heat water, or fluids, to a temperature suitable for the purposes listed in this section, including the installation of solar equipment for this purpose.
(f) Installation of on-demand natural or propane hot water heaters or combi boilers .
(g) The maintenance and replacement of all items described above and all health and safety devices such as, but not limited to, gas quick disconnect valves, gas control valves, back flow preventers, water conditioning equipment and regulating valves.
(h) Installation of sewage ejector pumps ,Grease traps for restaurants, installation of cold water drinking fountains ,and commercial ice machines.
(i) Installation of underground rough plumbing for new bathrooms and kitchens in basements and garages.
(j) Installation of radiant heating in cement floors or wood floors hung toilets and wall hung sinks for handicap application.
(k) Installation of handicap walk-in showers.
